G3 is a goner
The industry expert, as over-flatteringly claimed recently by Mr L3 (Mister Lateralthinker Laughterinducing Luke), is proud to say that she knows her pixels from her pickles, her speed shutter from her cheese cutter, and her aperture from the Apache. And now not-so-proud to declare that her cammie is a goner, as good as being in the trash with the pickles.
My Canon PowerShot G3 is gone. After various battery life evaluations on several trigger-happy occasions, I have reluctantly concluded that either the battery has melted internally or the connection to the camera is screwed. The standard original BP-511 1100mAh Li-on battery stubbornly refuses to last through even half an hour of light shooting. Very light, mind you. It will just manage a dozen shots using the LCD, and then in an eyelid's blink, the exact same battery that has powered the entire G series, and even the new 10D, starts to blink red and die on me. Damn! Talk about a false sense of reliability.
Until an upgrade to my next DSLR happens in the near future, I will have no camera to live with, not even a fone cam... I might consider marrying the son of any photography shop owner...Approach my dad to offer your dowry okay?
