William shud be Hung

William shud seriously be Hung on a rope for accepting the offer of a lifetime – a record contract and music video production deal with Koch Entertainment, the largest independent record company in America.

William shud also be Hung for his unbelievable luck in releasing his full-length record, titled 'Inspiration' and launching his new music video for 'She Bangs', where he gyrates with some bang-able babes in a raincoat and gold bling-blings.

William shud be Hung for being an anti-idol, yet worshipped by fans worldwide, with his website receiving millions of hits per day. My blog only receives 10 hits per year. hahaha!

William shud be Hung for making me sob in my failed auditioning recollections.

Though William shud NOT be Hung for inspiring everyone who sings in the shower, and for imbibing in us his values of 'try-your-best-even-though-you-have-no-professional-training', William keychains and posters will never be Hung in my room, but you may catch a sneak peek of me imitating his hip spasms and jerky dance moves, if you ask me nicely. =P

burp. anyway, go willy go!

my tooth dream

My dream last night was unnerving. I dreamt about my 3rd molar being so shaky that it was going to fall out any moment. I kept pushing it against my gums in a feeble attempt to 'plant' it back into my jaw. At the same time, the setting where i was fumbling with my tooth was in a downgraded, dim, dusty 3-room flat that forced me to compromise my personal space by sharing a tiny room with my pesky younger brother. We had to sleep on a double-decker bed, and the room was so cramped that i had to put my PC on the lower deck of the bed, taking up my leg space when i sleep (or rather, squirm uncomfortably in a lying position).

WTF does that dream mean? I tried to look online, and these interpretations are what i got:
Dreaming about teeth is very common in all cultures and age groups. Most dreams about teeth leave people feeling uneasy and anxious. Consider the overall content and context of the dream and note if you are having dental problems before making interpretations.

One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others.

Animals use their teeth for defense and show their teeth when angry. Teeth are also used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth usually symbolizes power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Look and see if you are losing or abusing power in any area of your life. Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situations. There is a fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety, but are an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be that if you dream of your teeth, it symbolizes money. This is based on the old tooth fairy story. If you lose a tooth and leave it under the pillow, a tooth fairy would bring you money. Old interpretations say that dreaming about teeth falling out is a bad omen that suggest financial difficulties.

In the Greek culture, when you dream about loose or missing teeth, it indicates that a family member or close friend is very sick or even near death. It shows that you are afraid of losing someone dear to you.
According to the Chinese, there is a saying that your teeth will fall out if you are telling lies. Your lies are hurting someone very badly and that you will soon be found out.

A scriptural interpretation for bad or falling teeth indicate that you are putting your faith, trust, and beliefs in what man thinks rather than in the word of God. The bible says that God speaks once, yea twice in a dream or a vision in order to hide pride from us, to keep us back from the pit, to open our ears (spiritually) and to instruct and correct us.

Oh dear, most of it seems true. I think my whole mouth of crowded teeth will not be enough to cope with the falling-outs.

where is the love?

What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma

Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists
Here livin' in the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah

Badness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
N****, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all

People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek

Father, Father, Father help us
Send us some guidance from above'
Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love?

It just ain't the same, always unchanged
New days are strange, is the world insane?
If love and peace is so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong

Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With the ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die youngS
o ask yourself is the lovin' really gone

So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother

A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' our own direction

Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids want to act like what they see in the cinema

Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness in equality
Instead in spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity

That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found

Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love
The love, the love

darkness in the world

I remember being a little kid and having a night-light in my bedroom for those late night pee emergencies. On special occasions, I would leave the fluorescent light of my study table on so that I could fall asleep without being scared.

Why is it that so many kids (and even grown-ups) are scared of the dark? And it seems to be a perfect analogy for our material and spiritual lives. There is something about the darkness that breeds fear, uncertainty, and a sense of the unknown.

It has been a long time since I slept with a night-light now, but sometimes the darkness still scares me. I look outside my window and am consumed with the vast nothingness that is night. Sometimes i imagine Sadako climbing up my window grilles like how she inched up the slimy well in the horror movie.

During the day the view outside my window view is beautiful, with the green of the trees, the blue of the sea near Sentosa, the white of the classy condomiunium opposite. But at night it is all gone. I mean, I know those objects are still there and their beauty has not diminished, but I just can’t see them.

Now, as a twenty-something who is trying to figure out my place in the world, it is not so much the physical darkness which scares me, but more the spiritual darkness I see all around me. I believe in a God who created the very essence of every person that I pass by each day. Yet, sometimes the essence has become more like an outline seen through dark, murky waters rather than light reflected in a mirror.

This world is a dark place. There is so much evil: murder, adultery, hate, greed, pride and jealousy. Sometimes even the days seem dark and gloomy. Sometimes, I wonder what is going to become of our society as God has slowly (but surely) been pushed away by people. Sometimes I feel like it is darker a lot more than it is light.

We are urged to walk in the light for indeed: "God is light; there is no trace of darkness in Him". If we claim that we experience a shared life with Him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously not living what we claim. This is something I daily wrestle with: I can’t change the fact that this world is a dark place. I can’t even change how people treat each other, or the worldly views they adopt, which most of time leaves God out of the picture.

All I can do is walk in the light where I see it, and when I don’t see it, (try to) shine my light into the dark places. Matthew 5:14 says, “You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept”.

Maybe I’m not the only one scared of the dark. Maybe the world is scared too, because Christians aren’t shining as they should. We’re called to be bright lights that pierce through the sky, but all that glows from us are little bulbs that give just enough light to get through the night. It seems difficult to be a light when I am still scared of the dark. Sometimes I feel like if I can’t even find my own way, then how am I supposed to point others in the right direction?

oh my gosh, it's not Posh!

David Beckham's having an extramarital affair. David Beckham's committing adultery. David Beckham's sleeping with other women in hotels. Whatever way you put it, his sex scandal has taken the sparkle out of the fairytale life of the world's favourite couple. No amount of pink diamonds can put it back. Poor Posh's had a pretentious and pathetic 30th birthday. And to me, Beckham is no longer the perfect man. Nope more. I almost wanted to tear down his poster on my bedroom wall. :-(

I was reeled in shock as Beck's reputation was trashed when lurid headlines and kinky tales fill the tabloids. The marriage made in pop culture heaven has finally hit the rocks. Aghast, I am forced to come to terms with the idea that David Beckham - England soccer captain, dad of the year, endorsement for cool products - has been playing sex games away from home, without Posh knowing.

From the gossip that i have read, there seems to be many girls involved - Rebecca Loos, Sarah Marbeck, Esther Canadas, Celina Laurie, Frida Karlsson. Everyone but not Posh.

But amid the sleazy entertainment for millions of people, the scandal has flushed out some truths about the nature of celebrity marriages. Although the couple each had "love tattoos" of the other's initials engraved on their wrists, all this is merely a "show" of lovey dovey-ness and family unity. It has destroyed my fantasy of true love. Even the most seemingly perfect, dollar bill-coated man can fall from grace, and very rapidly too. Even the couple who had it all, everything they wanted at ridiculusly luxurious standards, can be extremely unhappy. Now it seems it's all over and Beckham is starting to look like so many other celebs with too much time, too much money and too big an ego to know what he's doing.

I was surprised to read that Posh, instead of being furious over Beckham's breaking of their marriage vows or betraying her love, she reprimanded Beckham of risking their union by putting himself in such a 'dangerous' situation where someone could accuse him of having an affair. The bottomline to her seems to be, all those 'hard work' of portraying a happy family and being the perfect couple has gone down the drain. What the xxxx?? (pun to Beckham's txting unintended, haha) She dun mean to imply that this whole saga is a huge Bachelor reality TV show??

Some have criticised Posh for not being in Spain together with Beckham, who transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United in June last year. The result being Beckham being 'lured' into temptations...Yes, blame the woman. Easy way out huh??

I also read that Posh's parents are giving Beckham the cold shoulder and spending most of the time trying to keep cutsy Brooklyn and his baby brother Romeo away from hearing their parents' row. Serves him right!
The latest news from the oven is: Beckham has tearingly confessed and admitted his alleged sexual liaisons and was reportedly slapped across the face by sobbing Victoria as the full extent of allegations about his cheating emerged. What a drama!

Sigh...To a marketer's view, a global brand like the name of Beckham is now tarnished as his clean-cut image becomes dirty. I doubt that Beckham will be asked to do as many advertisements as he had before this scandal, but the truth of it is, Becks and Posh are a team in the global branding business, and even if Becks is relegated or demoted due to his infidelity, they complement each other's glam factors.
We'll see how GoldenBalls stumbles further. My old bf defends him by saying that: "He is a man after all". LAME LAME LAME!!!

dead cockroach in my food!

Absolutely disgusting. Totally stomach-turning. Very pissed off.

Last night, i went to Newton Food Centre to have a meal with my gal pal and polytechnic lecturer. We ordered oyster sauce kai lan and chilli squid. We were happily chatting and tucking into the veggies first.

To our horror, my dear ex-lecturer made a weird face and spat out a black/brown-coloured bug, and some half-chewed veggies. Upon closer examination, the bug was a dead cockroach about 3.5cm in length!!!!! it was "camouflaged" by the black oyster sauce and was in between the kai lan veggies!!! We can clearly see the roach wings and roach legs!!! The unfortunate one who chewed on the cockroach told us that she felt that particular piece of "kailan" was too CRUNCHY and something was not right. Thank God she spat it out instead of swallowing it! Thank God that we discovered the roach before we ate much of the kailan veggies!

I am going to spread this by word of mouth and also make an official complaint to the National Environment Agency regarding the horrendous hygiene of stall no 55 at Newton Food Centre!

Those of you contemplating to join Fear Factor can practise eating at this stall first...

passion of the christ

My heart is strung, my skin is cringing, my eyes are swollen...Everyday, I remind myself to be more like JESUS and less like SATAN. Happy Good Friday and Easter Sunday!

Some symbolism of the movie:
1) What was the meaning of the evil baby that Satan was holding?
> > That image of Satan holding an ugly child is an anti-Madonna image. The child represents the future persecutions of the body of Christ, the Church. The child is ugly because evil is a deformation of good. The child is stroking the face of Satan because evil perverts what is good. The stroking symbolizes the love of evil, much like a child would love its mother, but in a perverted way. Remember this image happens when Jesus is being scourged. His body is being wounded. His body is being persecuted. It is an image used by Mel Gibson to show Satan flaunting his future plan of persecution of the Church in the face of the sacrifice of the Lord.

2) Why is this movie so violent?
> > The violence you see Jim Caviezel endure as Jesus is really a reflection of the violence that sin does to our souls. Violence is the effect of sin on our souls. It destroys and disfigures us. It maimes us. It makes us look inhuman, ugly and hideous before the Father. The violence also represents the price of our redemption. Since Jesus took on our sin, He was made sin for us according to St. Paul, He took on the punishment of that sin. This is the purpose of the violence in the film, to get people to realize the price that is paid by the body of Christ when people commit sin and the price paid by the Savior to set us free.

3) Why do we see maggots?
>> In the Garden of Gethsemane when you see one crawling n and out of the nostril of Satan. It is a very quick scene. When do we see a maggot again? When Judas finds himself sitting next to a maggot infested mule. The maggot represents death and corruption.

4) In this picture Pontius Pilate was portrayed sympathetically. Why so?
>> Mel wanted him to represent the struggle of every man when faced with moral choices. It was obvious to Pilate that Jesus was an innocent man. It was obvious to Pilate that Barabbas was corrupt. (It was no accident that his makeup made Barabbas look even more evil and deranged.) To Pilate the right choice was obvious but he did not make it because of his own fears and the pressure from an unruly crowd he wanted to appease. Mel's message was that every time we choose sin, the choice is always obvious like the choice between Barabbas and Jesus. Of course there are times when the temptation that approaches> us is very beautiful in appearance, but down deep inside, we know what the choice should be and very often we do exactly what Pilate did and afterwards try to wash our hands to relieve our guilt.

5) Why was there a scene when Jesus falls over the bridge only to find Judas at the bottom?
> > Judas has just denied Jesus in the Garden. At this moment, Judas represents every man who when faced with the truth denies it. In this scene, he represents every man who runs away from the truth and Mel wanted to remind the audience that you cannot run away and hide from the truth because the truth will always find you. In this case, Jesus has been arrested, is beaten and falls from the bridge while hanging in chains right in front of Judas. The Truth found Judas even though he had denied Him and tried to hide from Him.

6) Why does Jesus notice a dove in the sky above Him?
> > It represents a reminder of the vertical dimension, the relationship between man and God. We as human beings are often caught up in the horizontal dimension (relationships with men and worldly affairs) and forget there is a vertical dimension. The vertical dimension represents the spiritual life, the relationship of a soul with the Father. The vertical dimension is what is more important and the dove is a reminder to Jesus that the vertical dimension is in control despite the appearance of the situation.

7) Why do Mary and Mary Magdalene clean up the blood on the cobble stones after Jesus is scourged?
> > It is because it is Jewish tradition to save the blood. Life is in the blood. Blood had to be collected. This is also representative of the cleaning of the vessels at Mass when a priest is done with the consecration and giving out the Eucharist. The blood was precious and Jesus' blood particularly is precious. Notice that they also collected the instruments that made Him bleed at the very end of the film when you see the crown of thorns, the nails and the hammer at the foot of the cross as they take down the body of Jesus.

8) What is the significance of Simon?
>> Simon of Cyrene represents every man who is faced with the cross and does not want to carry it. He also represents those who do not want to help others carry their crosses. Yet, in this film he also represents the person who is forced to carry the cross and then becomes so engaged with Christ that he wants a deeper relationship with Him. The arms of Jesus and Simon the Cyrene are intertwined as they carry the cross together and that image represents the efforts of each soul carrying its cross with the help of the Savior. That final look that Simon gives Jesus after he has finished helping Him, represents the longing of every soul to have a deeper relationship with the Lord after coming face to face with Him. It was through carrying the cross that Simon came to have a desire to have an intimate relationship with Jesus much like that of the soul who longs to know Christ better in the midst of suffering.

Down the Via Dolorosa
In Jerusalem that day,
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street.
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary.
He was bleeding from a beating.

There were stripes upon His back,
He wore a crown of thorns upon His head,
And He bore with every step
The scorn of thosewho cried out for His death.

Down the Via Dolorosa called the "Way of Suffering."
Like a lamb came the Messiah.
But He chose to walk that road
Out of his love for you and me.

Down the Via Dolorosa all the way to Calvary.
The blood that would cleanse
The souls of all men
Made its way to the heart of Jerusalem
