what are copywriters paid for?

True to my zodiac sun-sign which explains me being a fussy, fastidious perfectionist, i always spot copy mistakes in advertisements right away.

In a glossy artcard brochure by Poh Heng peddling one of their jewellery collections, i saw a typo error "oppulence" in one of the pages showcasing a set of blue topaz necklace and bracelet worth S$32,000 and S$9,200 respectively.

For a set of gems selling at a five-digit figure, why can't they just get the copy all spelled correctly before going to print? There ain't much copy to be written for jewellery anyway.

Similarly, my GM paid Triad Communications S$450 for one page of letter copywriting for a sensitive and potential-complaint-inviting issue, but i ended up doing all the work for the agency, ergo amending their customer-unfriendly text and formulating politically-correct FAQ answers. I should be paid that money instead.

Sigh,

I agree with you.
Why do companies always outsource stuff that we can do ourselves??

If it's out of our job scope, they should pay us.

Extra work, no OT pay, efforts not reconised, save or make money for the company still no bonus or pay raise, sigh, typical life of a Jr. Executive.

Same same jennie.....
